The owners of a home on the plains north of Denver loved the views from their south facing deck. However, the intense summer sun made the deck unusable for much of the summer and also over-heated the adjoin rooms. They desired a shade structure that would allow the views of the mountains and also provide shade on the deck and south-facing window. These 3D models were developed to study the shade provided at different times of the year.
