The Design Phases

Have you ever worked with an architect? If not, the process of taking an idea and transforming it into a building may be a mystery to you. The design process is made up of six major steps which allow that initial thought to become an actuality. Those steps are Programing, feasibility, and Conceptual Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Bid/Negotiation and Construction Administration, and finally Fixtures Furnishing and Equipment.  These steps take into account everything from research to programming of the building, to detailing, construction and furnishing. Starting from an overview and moving to a detailed final building the architectural process can take some time to complete, and as a client, you become a key voice in each step leading to a successful project.
