Denver Westwood Recreation Center

Essenza Architecture is working with Architect of Record, AMD, as the key recreational specialist leading the interior design of the gymnasium, commu- nity room, aquatics, fitness, and group x spaces. The interior of the recre- ation center will be complemented by the programmed site design allowing lots of opportunities for community gatherings and events. Essenza is lead- ing the aquatic and recreation design portion including space calculations, program adjacency planning and overall design of the pool and leading the interior exercise space layout. The Essenza team will take the lead on the project selecting the interior finishes as well as the furniture package. The facility will emphasize rhythm as movement to tell the story of the unique neighborhood Westwood. The community is looking forward to have the new asset and can’t wait to swim, dance, and lift when the facility opens. In 2020, plans for the center progressed after bond-funding was approved by voters.
