A Community Hub for Play and Connection

Designed to transform recreation access in the heart of the community, the Fort Morgan FieldHouse brings a new level of opportunity to a city that had long outgrown its previous facilities. The vision was simple yet powerful: to provide a welcoming, energetic space where residents of all ages could gather, play, exercise, and build connection. The result is a state-of-the-art recreation facility that has quickly become a cornerstone of daily life in Fort Morgan.

Multi-Sport Flexibility and Gymnasium Design

At its core is a tournament-ready gymnasium that includes:

  • Two full-size high school basketball courts

  • Four youth-sized courts

  • Four volleyball courts

  • Sprung athletic wood flooring throughout

Retractable quadrant netting allows for simultaneous play or multi-event use, while a surrounding walk/run track provides additional fitness programming. When the nets are up, the space becomes a flexible venue for community events and large-scale gatherings.

Designed for Everyday Use and Program Support

Essenza’s design team responded to staff and operational needs with targeted solutions that enhance daily function, including:

  • Dedicated wet and dry locker rooms

  • A secure child watch area for family access

  • Generous storage zones to support programming flexibility

Inclusive Design Beyond the Building

Just outside the main entry, an ADA-compliant, all-abilities playground and splash pad offer inclusive recreational experiences for children of all abilities. Designed on a fully navigable single-level surface, the space promotes equitable play and intuitive circulation for wheelchair users and caregivers alike.

Community Impact

Since opening, the FieldHouse has been met with widespread community enthusiasm. From pickup games to family playdates, the space is now a vibrant, smile-filled destination where Fort Morgan residents come together to move, play, and connect.
