Essenza Architecture worked with the City of Lafayette to develop a master plan and concept for the revitalization of the beloved
Bob Berger Recreation Center. The whirlpool, steam, and sauna rooms were 22 years old and received a modern and aesthetically pleasing environment as well as ADA compliance updates. The fitness area on the 2nd floor
also received a remodel and addition to create a functional training space. Responding to the communities' input, a new cardio space, a designated cycling room, and ADA compliant elevator were all added. The fitness atrium
was remodeled to create an updated look and new LED lighting was installed throughout the facility that saved 17Kilowatts of energy. Low VOC paints and "Eco" LEED contributing carpet were used to promote
the sustainability goals.
