Why did you become an architect?
I was drawn to architecture at a young age.  Growing up on the East Coast, I was always enamored by building design- from the skyscrapers of New York to the Space Needle in Toronto.  I loved going to art and history museums as well.  With a passion for art and science I discovered that becoming an architect was the perfect fit for me.  It combines my creative interests and allows me to be part of creating solutions through my work.

What beliefs are incorporated into your designs?
I believe that architectural design should enhance the experience of people's living and working environments.  I want to know that the spaces that we create are truly compatible with those who work, play and live within them.  It's important to take the time to select the right products and provide meticulous, detailed, development to shape these sustainable spaces.

What are your influences?
When I moved to Arizona for college, I was inspired by the modern, sculptural styles of Will Bruder and Richard Meier.

What are your favorite materials?
My two favorite materials are concrete and wood.  Concrete because it can be formed into just about any shape and has amazing strength.  Wood because it's a great material that has a vast range of textures and colors that work nicely with other materials.

Bachelor of Science in Architectural Design, Arizona State University.
In addition to taking the required courses Christa also enjoyed taking classes in communications, scultpture, ceramics and Spanish.
