The mission of this project was to renovate the entire park and create and accessible environment for all generations. Amenities such as universal changing rooms and adult changing tables help patrons of all abilities and ages enjoy the facility that includes a 50-meter pool, leisure pool, lazy river, splash pad, diving board and platform, climbing wall, repurposed bathhouse, and a new double tower slide.

Site improvements called for relocating the adjacent baseball nets and poles to provide a safer environment. Ample bicycle parking and enlarged paths on all sides of the property encouraging mulit-modal transportation, an important goal for the City of Boulder. The design theme focused on space exploration as homage the Park's namesake, astronaut Scott Carpenter.
